<<Cavity has been filled, and so has my MiniDisc order>>

I woke up before 07:00 this morning, and was amazed that my right shoulder blade didn't hurt at all. It's amazing what a difference a day can make on an ailment.

I got to work at around 08:45, and my department area was pitch black. I've never seen that before. I actually had to ask a colleague in a different department where the light switches were. She kind of knew where they were, but we were both guessing.

One other colleague in my department came in about half an hour later. He wished me a happy new year, which was nice. We get along fine. He was happy that he wasn't the only person working by himself this week. I told him that I was traumatized that I had to figure out how to switch the lights on.

Work was productive. My paycheque was waiting in my mail slot. Yes, I actually have an office cubbyhole. It's nice to get my paycheque on time.

I worked without breaking for lunch. That's because I had to leave work at 14:55 to get my cavity filled at the dentist. I only spent about 30 minutes in the chair. My cavity is indeed tiny and is in the upper left side of my mouth. I haven't had a cavity in such a long time that the procedure seemed effortless. The freezing agent didn't numb my entire left side like it has done in the past. I had some sort of green rubber material stretched over my mouth and dental floss was used to put it in place. The procedure went well, and after the freezing agent wore off, I had no pain. Even my filling matches my tooth enamel. How cool!

After my appointment, I had some spaghetti with chicken. I was thinking of eating something soft, that didn't require a lot of biting. I love chicken. I seem to be on a chicken kick these days.

I got a call this evening from Future Shop, confirming my Sony MiniDisc order. The representative said that it would be shipped tomorrow. Goody-goody!

At work today, I chatted with two friends. The first friend lives in Phoenix. I told her about my mom, and she understands what I am going through, for her mom had a stroke or two in her lifetime, and then died on the operating table when she had a heart operation about 1.5 years ago. Her aunt just died on Christmas eve. My heart aches for her. She's been through so much since I've known her for the past 2.5 years. She has even delayed her wedding. It was to take place in February, but she's anticipating a summer wedding instead.

My other friend has returned from Hamburg, Germany. She starts her new job on Monday. After her first day, we're going out for dinner and will be catching up on six months' worth of missed chatting. Her grandmother had three strokes in her lifetime, and overcame them all. There is hope after all.

I'm watching the Oilers/Wild NHL game on TV. I do have a soft spot for the Wild. Heck, the Wild franchise started a few months after I had moved down to Minnesota. I'm so pleased that the franchise is doing so well.

Tomorrow, I got to get some stamps for the States. I have to mail a cheque to my American chequing account.

I'll probably turn in after the Oilers/Wild game. There's about two minutes left. I gotta go watch it now.

Guess what? The Wild just scored. As much as I love the Oilers, I'm so proud of the underdog team. :)
