<<Voting day in Manitoba yesterday>>
2003-06-04 @ 3:03 p.m.

I was too tired to write what I had to say last night. I got back home just past 23:00, and fell asleep at 01:00.

Yesterday, it was voting day in Manitoba. I voted at 08:30, just before I went to work. The great thing about voting in my area is that the polling station is in the apartment building next to mine. Talk about convenience!

A friend of mine was a political analyst on the A-Channel election special, so I was invited to meet the panel that was on the two-hour show, have some subs and wraps, and watch the program in the studio. The staff at that channel were extremely friendly. The funniest part of the show occurred when one of the guests, a reverend, meant to say "crown prosecutor". It came out as "crown persecutor". I was laughing so hard, and he took it well on live TV, too.

I also visited a chiropractor yesterday. We got along just fine. She has the same sense of humour as I do. I have been getting some numbness in my left ring finger and a bit in my pinkie finger for a couple of months now. I realized last week after speaking with the cardiologist that this is a nerve problem. Since then, I've noticed that I have a bit of neck and shoulder pain. The pain is dull, but I can feel it now and again.

Well, she took some x-rays of my neck, and my lower back, since the latter has always been a problem. There was a flat rate on x-rays: all she could take for $30, and that includes the examination. Heck, why not splurge! She did a lot of tests. I appreciate the fact that she is thorough. So, I go back later today to find out if she can manipulate my neck and spine, and to discuss the x-ray results with me.

At work yesterday, the little silver ball on the end of my horseshoe captive ring fell off. I wasn't too pleased with that! I couldn't find it anywhere, and those things are so small for my big fingers. So, I gave up searching for it on the multicoloured carpet that I went home, took the rind out of my helix ear piercing, and inserted a seamless ring instead. It's a cool shade of purple, and it works for me. I just twist it open, insert it, and then twist it back into place. I'm glad someone thought of it for folks like me!

I need more sleep. On Monday, I was out till midnight, and last night, I was out till 23:30. I hope to get more sleep tonight. I sleep soundly, but I just need more of it.

Work is going well so far. I do a bit of work, and then I take a mental break. This counts as one of them, because I'm gathering my thoughts, and they aren't work-related ones. It's pretty gloomy outside. It looks like it's going to rain hard soon.

About an hour ago, I went out for lunch. I went to a Tim Horton's store and ordered a cafe mocha again. Oddly, it was cheaper to purchase a cup than I'm used to. No complaints on my part! I also went to my favourite Royal Bank drive-thru and deposited my tutoring cheque.

Speaking of cheques, I finally got my refund from Columbia House in the States. It only took them a year to refund $2.00 USD. Speedy service, indeed... NOT!

Well, I should get back to work. I do like small breaks like this. I may write more later. It depends on how sound asleep I am.
